When the pain is not being successfully reduced by conservative treatment the patient becomes a candidate for surgery (Hip replacement).

The type of prosthesis that will be used depends on a variety of factors such as age of the patient, disease that causes degenerative process, and the state of the joint which is being replaced (joint deformity).

After performing clinical examination and evaluation of the x-rays and the before mentioned factors, orthopaedic surgeon explains to the patient which type of endoprosthesis would be the most appropriate for him/her and what additional medical examinations he/she should do before the surgery.
